A little bit about me!

My passion is documentary wedding photography! I enjoy capturing organic and candid moments that speak to the heart of your event.

In fact, I absolutely love the art of photographing people in all kinds of situations and events, regardless of the context! Whether it's capturing the innocence of toddlers, the character of adults, the playfulness of kids, the companionship of pets, the intimacy of couples, or the vibrancy of events, I take pride in what I do. What truly makes my profession so fulfilling is the privilege of being part of countless moments of something real. It never feels like a job to me; rather, it feels like being a welcomed guest.

It all started for me over 20 years ago in 2004 when I picked up my first camera, an old analog SLR camera from the late ‘70s, while studying to become a film-maker and visual designer. Photography soon turned from a hobby into an obsession to learn everything there was about cameras. After several years, that obsession eventually led me to upgrade my equipment and try my hand at shooting a friend’s wedding. Needless to say, it could have gone better! But you live and learn, and here I am today. I started the Candid Crow Photography Company and to this day I’m pursuing my goal of working for myself, while doing what I love.

No real profound reason, I’m afraid. I’ve always just had a soft spot in my heart for them while I lived in the PNW. I shared a few lunches with them at Rialto Beach. Maybe I appreciate their independence.

What, my past wasn’t exciting enough? Sure! I fall asleep every night reading (probably) fiction and waking up every morning to two cups of coffee and my 4-year old. My daughter is everything to me. Somehow I don’t have enough photos of her though. I listen to a lot of indie rock since the 90s are over, and try to keep my TV intake to a minimum. I’m also a firm believer in returning shopping carts and trying to avoid using plastic.

Oh, and I love shooting street photography when I have the chance, or just nature in general. I feel like that documentary approach trickles down into the way I shoot weddings. Hell, sometimes I even torment myself and shoot with a manual lens. Yup.

Easy answer? My weddings start at $2,100, and my family/senior sessions start at $290. More detailed answer? Well, I need to know a little more. The exact amount you can expect to pay for your photography depends on a few factors. The two most important ones are:

• The type of shoot / event.
• The amount of people.

Once I have that information, I will be able to give you an idea on where we stand. Other secondary factors would be things like:

• The location of the photo shoot / venue.
• If you would like to have the photos printed and framed, or if you would like to add on an album.

So, if you do contact me via e-mail, you’ll be prepared for my questions. And don’t worry if your wedding is not near Cleveland or even in Ohio. I will gladly travel to meet you, probably with a smile on my face the entire trip there. I absolutely love travelling, especially if there is a beach.

One constant across all of my photo shoots and photography packages is that you will consistently receive the edited photos in full resolution. This allows you to create your own prints at any time, without incurring extra costs. This feature proves particularly useful for obtaining additional prints in the future, even several years down the line.
